And the winner is.....

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all well and, if you're in the UK, I hope you're surviving the current heatwave. It has been ridiculously hot for some weeks now and has definitely taken a toll on my productivity. I hope you can forgive my absence, but it hasn't been easy to function, which I know is pretty hopeless for those of you who live in warm countries around the world. In my defence, the houses here are designed to retain heat, so the temperature has really not dipped, whether inside or outside.

But amidst it all, I did receive an incredible email which instantly lifted my flagging spirits; it was from the prestigious Open Book Awards.

I genuinely cannot even begin to say what receiving such recognition means, especially when all of us in the book world do have periods when we feel unseen. It has inspired me to continue writing and push myself to work harder to reach lasting levels of excellence. As in many of the creative arts, it can be a lonely process writing a book, so to have an organisation commend your work comes second only to the feedback from my beloved readers.

As it happens, I have started a new novel, although as previously explained, progress has been slow, as it seems, I can only really concentrate at around 2:00 AM when it's slightly cooler. But, as always, I will keep you updated when I get further into the story.

So that's how things are at chez Turner, we are all slowly melting, but hopefully doing so, with some semblance of style. I hope, wherever you are, this new week brings plenty of reasons to smile. Please look after yourselves, thank you so much for all the continued support and, as always...

Take care out there xx
